Pastors & Staff
Our pastors and office administrator would be more than happy to speak with you if you have any questions about SBC...
so please don't hesitate to give us a call or send us an email.
You may notice that we have "Co-lead" pastors, instead of a Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor. In 2018 we adopted a co-leadership structure for our pastoral staff, based on the way our pastors function together as a team. Neither one is "in charge." Instead, working closely with our Elders, both Pastors bring leadership to different areas of the church, make decisions together based on consensus, and work in mutual accountability and mutual support.

Pam has been serving SBC as a Pastor since 2005, when she graduated from Grant MacEwan with her Registered Social Worker designation. A recipient of the John Hutton Memorial Award, Pam has a love for our marginalized neighbours, and in her first 10 years with SBC worked within the larger community to rally support for, and lead our community in, the establishment of The Neighbour Centre (now a ministry of The Mustard Seed).
Pam leads and mentors in the areas of: Pastoral Care, Worship, Community and Street Outreach, Children's Ministry, Discipleship, and Prayer Ministry. She is committed to seeing people move from brokenness to wholeness. To this end she has worked to support the efforts of the Capital Region Inter-faith Initiative on Housing and Homelessness and the Resiliency Ministries Society Canada.
When it's time to play, Pam delights in spending time with her grandchildren, and children, and she enjoys the outdoors and travel.

Eric first came to Strathcona Baptist in August of 2014, filling in while the Senior Pastor was on leave. In January of 2016, that temporary position became permanent.
Eric is the preaching & teaching pastor (a role that he absolutely loves!) and is passionate about engaging the community of SBC in the mission that God has for this church. He enjoys and greatly appreciates the leadership teams that he is part of at SBC: a staff team that obviously enjoys working together, and a team of volunteer leaders who love Jesus and his church, and who love the people of Old Strathcona.
Eric, and his wife Beth, and their kids, Jonathan and Elisha, have spent most of their lives in Edmonton. When he's not "on the job," Eric prefers to be on his motorbike or, in the winter months, thinking about being on his motorbike...
Street Mission Outreach Worker
Aaron began working as a Street Mission Outreach Worker with SBC in March, 2018.
Aaron enjoyed a long career in international sales where he had the opportunity to meet and work with people from cultures all over the world. After moving to Edmonton, from Ontario, with his wife, Wanda, and son, Kip, Aaron came to Christ in February of 2014. He soon felt the Lord’s calling to serve his homeless and marginalized neighbours in the Spirit of Jesus, in the Old Strathcona community. After several winters volunteering at The Neighbour Centre, he transitioned to full-time employment there. During that time Aaron found that he also has compassion for incarcerated men, which he expresses by walking with inmates as they make the transition from prison to our community.
In 2017, Aaron obeyed the strong prompting he felt from God to journey—in a Street Outreach capacity—alongside neighbours, helping them find spiritual, relational, emotional, physical, and mental healing.

Shelley has been serving Strathcona Baptist Church as their Administrative Assistant since August 2019. She first started attending the church in 2005 and decided, finally, that we could not live without her through the week.
Shelley’s passion is people, and she has a particular love for children and seniors. She has the gifts of listening, and making people feel comfortable and affirmed. She has a heart of mercy and is always eager to serve and support those in need.
In her free time, Shelley and her husband Rob, take opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and can be found fishing, golfing, or camping with family and friends. Rob and Shelley have grown twin boys, but Shelley’s greatest joy, is spending time with her grandson, getting lots of hugs. Shelley has been an avid traveller over the years, and has enjoyed experiencing the beauty of places and people all around the world.
